Pines Farm Cottages are situated between York and Leeds and although they are in a rural location, main roads are easily accessible. 

Just a few minutes down the road is the town of Tadcaster, with its breweries and local shops and cafes, ideal for stocking up on supplies and there is a lovely walk near the river passing a picturesque weir and viaduct.

The historic city of York is a short drive away and has something for everyone, history, mystery and chocolate! 

Harrogate, the famous spa town is also easily accessible as are Yorkshire's many market towns.

If its horse racing your into, we're surrounded by many top class race tracks.

The North Yorkshire moors and Dale are perfect for Walking and the exploring the great outdoors.

If you enjoy stately homes and gardens, north Yorkshire has plenty, Castle Howard and Harewood house to name only two.

For shoppers Leeds is just up the road with its many shops, shopping centres and even a Harvey Nichols store. There is also a Mcarthur Glen outlet on the outskirts of York for a spot of designer bargain hunting.

National trust and English heritage members will also find plenty to explore in north Yorkshire. 

If you like the seaside and of course Yorkshire fish and chips and ice cream, it's just over an hour's drive away, there's something for everyone on the East Coast wether its Scarborough's amusements or the SeaLife centre, Flamborough head with its beautiful views and lighthouse, Bempton Cliffs with its seabirds or Whitby with its history of captain cook and Dracula!

For railway lovers, there's the national railway museum in York and a selection of light railways, the most famous, the north Yorkshire moors.
